In the afternoon of July 4, Flying College & Chongqing General Aviation Training Company held a ceremony to mark its opening in Chongqing Mechanical and Electrical Building. The establishment of the company will be expected to inject fresh energy to Chongqing's general aviation in training. It marks that Chongqing will have its own independent flying talents training base.

According to general understanding, Flying College & Chongqing General Aviation Training Company is a joint venture between Chongqing Helicopter Industry Investment Company and China Civil Aviation Flying College. The company now mainly devotes itself in the area of aircraft maintenance & training, and deals with PPL and CPL for GA pilots, then gradually develops into a training base involved all kinds of aviation talents.
Taking general aviation industry as its newly-developed competitive industry, Chongqing Municipal Government plans to establish an aviation industrial park of 8 square kilometers at Liangjiang New Area. From talents training and aircraft manufacturing to aviation industrial park and pilot city of opening low-altitude airspace, the basic frame of developing general aviation industry in Chongqing is formed. Obviously, this will provide a solid foundation for the taking-off of GA industry.
At the moment, work has started on the construction of airport runway and the GA company. The projects are expected to complete at no later than October 31 of the year, and put into operation by the year-end.
