The China International General Aviation Convention also saw deals on nearly a dozen aircraft. Contracts worth 2.4 billion yuan were sealed and 22 projects were decided in the aviation industry base in the provincial capital Xi'an.

On the afternoon of Oct. 17, the 2009 China International General Aviation Convention was opened at Neifu Airport, Pucheng County, Weinan City. Governor Yuan Chunqing delivered a speech. Li Jiaxiang, Minister of CAAC, awarded a plate for civil aviation administration pilot park, and delivered a speech. Sun Qingyun, Standing Committee of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and secretary of CPC Xi’an Municipal Committee, and old comrades of the province such as Li Xipu, Cui Lintao and Fan Xiaomei attended the opening ceremony. Vice Governor Wu Dengchang presided the opening ceremony.

The China International General Aviation Convention is the first national exhibition for general aviation industry of China approved by the State Council.
It is co-sponsored by the CAAC, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, with the supports of six units, i.e. Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security, PLA Headquarters of the Central Staff, Air Command and the State Sport General Administration, and organized by the people’s governments of Xi’an City and Weinan City.
The convention started from Oct. 17 and lasted for three days includes four activities, i.e. aerobatic flight and exhibition of aircrafts, general aviation summit forum, aviation equipment and apparatus exhibition, and signing ceremony of aviation projects. Over 30 general aviation enterprises in overseas markets such as U.S., Canada, France, U.K., Germany, Cesko, Holland and Japan and over 100 enterprises in China attended the event.
After the opening ceremony, wonderful aerobatic flights were organized. All kinds of aircrafts soared into the sky. In the roaring sounds, S2B double-wing aircrafts performed many highly-difficult actions. G164A aircraft showed the stunt performance of walking with aircraft wing. These performances won applauses and cheers from the audiences.
