Chen Wei, the first Chinese pilot of global flight, organizes his team and gives a performance with PT-6 aircraft made in China.
Recently, journalists were told by the Executive Committee of CIGAC 2013 that “Tianlong Aerobatic Flight Performance Team” - the first Chinese folk aerobatic flight performance team is expected to make a stage pose in CIGAC 2013 to be held in October this year in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, with main airplane type of PT-6 Aircraft made in China.
Two years ago, Chen Wei, the first Chinese pilot of global flight, was invited to attend CIGAC 2011 after his global flight task. After watching the aerobatic flight performance given by teams from the US, Russia, Lithuania and other countries, Chen Wei made a wide exchange with many general aviation enterprises in CAIB and reached an agreement of jointly establishing a folk aerobatic flight performance team. Many people in general aviation industry believe that all of us have truly felt the vital development trend and promising future of general aviation industry in China, but without aerobatic flight performance by Chinese in such a big domestic aviation exhibition, regret of viewers is unavoidable.
With investigation and demonstration in many ways, Chen Wei and his partners decided to take PT-6 Aircraft as main airplane type for aerobatic performance and name the first Chinese folk aerobatic flight performance team as “Tianlong Aerobatic Flight Performance Team”, meaning a Chinese dragon flying in the sky. At the conference, “Tianlong Aerobatic Flight Performance Team” shall pilot PT-6 Aircraft made in China and present close-range formation flight of double airplanes and four airplanes and rolling flight in the blue sky to viewers from the world.
PT-6 Aircraft is a propeller primary training airplane with single engine and two seats, independently researched and developed by China with excellent performance, which can accomplish all primary flight training programs. With remodeling of adding more power, it shall become an ideal airplane for aerobatic flight performance. “Tianlong Aerobatic Flight Performance Team” chose PT-6 Aircraft, hoping that PT-6 Aircraft shall demonstrate the aviation strength of China to the world and display Great China prestige.
