Sky Dragon (Tianglong) - China's First Private Aerobatic Flying Team

The first private aerobatic flying team of China - Sky Dragon Aerobatic Flying Team (or Tianlong Aerobatic Flying Team) is expected to strike a pose on the stage of China International General Aviation Convention 2013 at Xi'an this October.

After finished global flying  two years ago, Chen Wei,  the first man to fly around the world in China, was invited to attend CIGAC 2011. During the convention, Chen, together with  CAIB leaders and national GA companies exchanged views on some issues. Many general aviation insiders can exactly see that China's general aviation industry takes on a look of prosperity and shows a bright future. However, China doesn't have its  own aerobatic flying team at any large national airshows.  So, they especially proposed a practical idea of jointly establishing a private aerobatic flying team and reached agreement.

Chen and his partners decided to use home-made CJ-6 primary  trainer as main models for their aerobatic performance, and called  the team Sky Dragon Aerobatic Flying Team (or Tianglong Aerobatic Flying Team), which meant  that Chinese dragon flying in the sky. By then, the team will fly CJ-6 primary trainer aircrafts to present the public a series of excellent demonstrations, such as two/ four aircrafts flying in close formation, and flying roll.

CJ-6 is an aircraft designed and built in China for use by the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) as a basic trainer. For more information about CJ-6 aircraft, please see Wikipedia
